LOUISA — Two Lawrence County sisters who started a business as teenagers continue to run it while going to college.

At the time they started Two Sisters Sweets & Treats, LLC in July 2020, Eden Webb was 17 and her sister, Adrian, was 16. Currently, the sisters, who live in Louisa, attend Morehead State University, where Eden Webb will graduate in December with a degree in teaching and Adrian Webb is studying business management.

The Webb sisters said they learned their cooking skills from their grandmother, Doris Hayes, whom they said baked and cooked all the time while they were growing up and taught them to make pies.

“Everything she made was so good,” Eden Webb said. “She still helps us with recipes if we are trying something new or need help. We really have taught ourselves a lot. It seems to come easy to us and we enjoy it.”

They decided to turn it into a business after one Easter when they baked goodies for some people and filled Easter baskets.

“That was the first time we actually baked things for other people,” Eden Webb said. “It was during COVID, so we were home more than usual, and one evening the idea came to us, and we started taking steps to start the business.”

The Webbs say that they definitely plan to continue and expand their business.

“We are excited to announce Rolling Acres Farm, a wedding venue in Boyd County, recently named us as premier baker for their brides, and we are so thankful and excited for that opportunity,” Eden Webb said. “Also, we will be launching a new part of our business which will specialize in gourmet dog treats. This article will be our first communication of that to the public. Kash and Harley Barkery Treats will be our next project.”

The Webbs said their mother was the first person to have the initial idea, and after she mentioned starting a home bakery, both girls fell in love with the idea.

“Our mom is still a major influence when it comes to our home bakery,” Eden Webb said. “She is extremely creative and hardworking. We get these traits from her.”

The Webbs specialize in custom cakes, cupcakes, cake pops and decorated cookies, but they make all kinds of homemade desserts. They do have a menu, but they are in the process of updating it.

“Our menu is quite large, and there is a big selection, so we find it hard to put it all on a menu but we are revising it now,” Eden Webb said.

Webb sisters said they enjoy making wedding cakes and book in advance for weddings. They have provided desserts for weddings, birthdays, showers and other events.

“We actually make entire dessert tables and setup for special occasions, including delivery and setting up the table,” Webb said. “This is one of our specialties, providing custom, themed desserts for special events.”

“We absolutely love baking and creating desserts for people,” she said. “In our free time, we enjoy playing bluegrass music with our family, hanging our family, hanging out with friends and family, camping, and boating. We also enjoy going to our amazing church, Meades Branch Freewill Baptist. We are so grateful for our home bakery. We would like to thank our family for pushing us to always do our best. We would like to thank our wonderful customers who have ordered and believed in us. Most of all, we would like to thank our Lord for giving us this opportunity to do what we love.”
