Two Lawrence County School principals will leave their schools and begin their new positions in the Lawrence County Central Office in the near future.
Myram Brady, former Lawrence County High School principal will replace the former Chief Academic Officer Katie Hatfield Webb, who recently was named the new Superintendent of LC schools.
Brady said she cherished every moment of her time working at LCHS alongside an incredible team.
“While it is bittersweet to step away from my role as principal and the school community I love, I am thrilled about the opportunity to expand to a larger amazing team and the impact across all of Lawrence County,” said Brady.
As Chief Academic Officer, Brady says she looks forward to collaborating with students, teachers and administrators to support the inspiring vision of our new superintendent, Mrs. Webb. “This role allows me to contribute to the success and development of not only our high school students but all students throughout the county,” said Brady. “I am excited about the great opportunities ahead for Lawrence County!”
Matt Maynard, former Louisa West principal will go to the Central Office filling the position of Director of Federal Programs, SBDM Coordinator, and Evaluations Coordinator.
Maynard said he is thankful for the opportunity to serve the community in a new role as the Director of Federal Programs.
“Having worked in four of the six schools in Lawrence County over the last 24 years, I have seen the work of our students and staff, and I appreciate all of the hard work that is done daily in this district,” said Maynard. “I am excited to work with each school student to provide the best opportunities for our students.
Maynard will be replacing Mary Hall, who has retired.
Since that time of the changes in personnel, the Lawrence County School District has announced they have selected Courtney Kingsmore as the new principal of Louisa West Elementary School replacing Maynard.
Kingsmore taught at Louisa East for nine years. She has worked as a LC District Resource Reading teacher and ESS Coordinator for the last two years.
“I feel extremely blessed to receive the opportunity to serve the staff, students, and families of Louisa West. I understand the importance of being in a school with our youngest learners and look forward to doing all I can to make it a positive experience for our students,” said Kingsmore. “I am excited to take on this new role, and I will show up each day with a grateful heart and work hard to provide opportunities to help our students thrive. Louisa West is blessed with an amazing team that I can’t wait to work with!”
