Thursday Music in the Park to be July 20 in downtown Louisa

After taking a few months off to feature other events in Lawrence County, Thursday Evening Music in The Park is back on Thursday, July 20, beginning at 6 p.m., in the Louisa Main Street Park, 110 East Main St., across from the Public Library.

Miss Mattox Hale of Ashland will open the show followed by Troy Burchett (Troy Carlois), a local musician from Prestonsburg.

The event is family friendly, admission is free and is open to the public. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

The Lawrence County Tourism Commission along with sponsors Brown Foodservice, Inc. and Opell Meats, held the annual 2023 Burger Week, June 23 thru July 1. Over 700 entries were turned in.

Participating in the event was Down Home Grill, Dee’s Drive Inn, Giovanni’s, Hillbilly Hibachi, Huckleberry’s Masterpiece Café, Masterpiece Kitchen, Meatheads Grill, Randy’s Red White and Blue BBQ, Three Rivers Food Mart, Toro Loco, Three Rivers Medical Center Cafeteria and Stars and Stripes in Louisa; Fallsburg Mart and Kimber’s Market in Blaine.

Winners of the gift certificates donated by Opell Meats were Erin Evans and Christy Vance. LC County Attorney Johnny Osborne was the winner of the Blackstone Grill. When contacted about his win, Johnny decided to donate the grill back to the Tourism to be given away during the Thursday Music in the Park on July 20. Everyone attending will receive a free ticket for the drawing (must be present to win).

Lawrence County Tourism works to highlight the resources of our county and invite others to come visit and discover what we have to offer. Check out the website at www.visitlcky.com.
