RENFRO VALLEY —Lawrence County native and current American Idol Noah Thompson was present, along with Lawrence County Tourism Director Wes Kingsmore, when the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame in Renfro Valley unveiled his exhibit last week.

Thompson was the winner on the 20th season of “American Idol” and shortly afterward released his first single, “One Day Tonight,” which reached No. 1 on both the pop and country charts.

Thompson said the case displays an outfit that he wore when he performed his first single on “American Idol.”

“It’s actually the outfit that I performed in, in the finale of the show,” Thompson said in an interview with WYMT-TV.

Thompson has since moved to Nashville, where he has continued to write songs and will also appear at the CMA Fest this year.

The display will be in the case for a year and the exhibit is open at the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame, 2590 Richmond Street, Mount Vernon, Exit 62 off Interstate 75 in Renfro Valley, daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., year- round.
