LOUISA — The Louisa Police Department issued a public service announcement regarding parking and shuttle service during this year’s Lawrence County Septemberfest.

With the expectance of a larger crowd at this year’s Septemberfest, shuttles will be available from Louisa Plaza, which has been designated for parking, the release said. There will be “walk-in” parking available at approved parking lots in town.

No parking will be allowed at the downtown Dollar General Store.

Orange sections on the map offers shuttled parking.

Shuttle lots include 200 Town Hill Road, (plaza, Sports complex, old Foodland building). Pick up and drop off for shuttles at 309d E. Main St., behind Wellman’s Hardware.

The yellow section on the map is for walk in parking at 301 W. Pike St., by the First Baptist Church; 210 Pocahontas St. by Faith Baptist Church; 101 W. Pike St. by the Louisa Senior Citizen Center and 203 Water Street, by Pioneer Rural Clinic.

The red section on the map features the location of first aid stations; the pink section shows where the festival, food vendors and booths are located; and the blue section is where you will find the main stage and the entertainment.

The Louisa Police Department asked in the release that people use good judgement and common sense. “Do not park blocking driveways, the flow of traffic, or on private property that is not designated for parking or that you do not have permission to park on,” the release said. “Residents live in the area surrounding the festival and emergency vehicles need to be able to access everything, so be mindful when coming to the festival.”
