LOUISA — A private screening of a short film featuring a local young actor is scheduled at the Garden Theater in Louisa Jan. 7, 2021.

Members of the cast of “Thandi’s Love,” including Louisa’s Zeb Slone, will be present for a meet and greet following the screening with a red carpet event.

The 45-minute movie is set in the South during the mid-1800s and explores the love affair between mulatto slave Thandi Boran and her married master, Tom Lexington.

Slone, 13, and Jasmine Smith play the young versions of Lexington and Boran.

Slone’s mother, Marsha, said in a post on Facebook that the production company is accepting opportunities for a few businesses to showcase their products at the event.

“We are so excited that everyone will finally get to see Zeb in one of his films,” she said. “Tickets will be on sale soon. As always, thanks for all your love and support of his acting career.”

Planet Muzick Studios said in a release announcing the private showing of the film that anyone interested in showcasing products should send an email to planetmuzickstudios@gmail.com.

The company also said it is taking submissions for chefs/caterers for food samples, health and beauty, beer, wine, liquor, apparel, fragrances, and jewelry for free.

Planet Muzick Studios is a film production and distribution company based in Birmingham, Ala.

“Planet Muzick is not your typical production company,” its website says. “We’re a band of Artists coming together to create both unique and commercial projects for Film and Television.”

Slone has 21 acting credits listed on Internet Movie Database, including a Western, “Of Myth & Legend,” currently in pre-production.
