Septemberfest, “Best Little Festival in Kentucky” will be Sept. 8-9 in downtown Louisa

LOUISA — With the Septemberfest deemed as the “Best little festival in Kentucky” being less than two weeks away here are some of the highlights to remember.

The pageant will take place Monday, Sept.4, at the Lawrence County Community Center by the high school. Applications can be found here at https://www.septemberfestlouisa.com/pageant

Some carnival rides will begin setting up on Wednesday evening Sept. 6, on Vinson Street.

Street Closings will begin on Thursday, Sept. 7. Main Street in front of Main Street Park will close at Noon and Main Cross Street will close at 5 p.m.

The longest running classic car event in Lawrence County will be held Saturday Sept. 9, at First Baptist Church parking lot, running from 12-2:30pm. https://www.septemberfestlouisa.com/car-show

The festival officially opens at noon on Friday, Sept. 8, with some food vendors open for lunch. All vendors will open before the opening ceremonies on the main stage at 4 p.m.

Friday Entertainment on the Main Stage includes 4:30 p.m., Laura Louisa; 6 p.m., Luna and the Mountain Jets; 7;30 p.m., Iron Horse and at 9:30, Town Mountain.

Saturday morning, Sept. 9, from 7 to 10 a.m., a fabulous pancake breakfast is being served at the Aspersion Lodge, 110 N Vinson Avenue, downtown Louisa.

The 35th annual Parade will begin at 11 a.m., leaving the Louisa Plaza and ending at Food City Plaza intersection. This year’s theme is “Celebrating Our Kentucky Roots.” Register online at www.septemberfestlouisa.com.

Saturday entertainment on the Main Street Park Stage will include, 1 p.m., Solid Ground; 3 p.m., Fenced In Bluegrass; and at 5 p.m., Appalachian Roadshow and on the Main Stage (beside the Dollar Store), 4:30 p.m., Rachel Messer and Connor Dale; 6 p.m., Laid Back Country Picker; 7:45 p.m., Noah Thompson and at 9:30 p.m., The Steeldrivers.
