LOUISA — Lawrence County Animal Control is offering a $500 reward for information on who is shooting feral cats behind the old Foodland with darts.

An announcement from animal control said that the cats are being trapped, fixed if needed and relocated so there is no need for them to be harmed.

“It’s completely inhumane and uncalled for,” the announcement said. “It has taken all week to get this cat trapped to have the dart removed. It is now at the vet being treated for its injuries all because someone thought it would be funny to go out and harm an animal.
