Pikeville man arrested in Floyd following police pursuit

PIKEVILLE — A Pikeville man was arrested Sunday in Floyd County following a police pursuit of a vehicle that was reported stolen from Ohio, Kentucky State Police said.
Daniel Brock, 21, of Pikeville, was arrested and charged with numerous offenses following the police chase, which began in Pike County, according to a KSP press release.
KSP Post 9 was notified by the Pikeville Police Department around 1:56 p.m. Sunday that a Pikeville officer was pursuing a black Chrysler 300 entering the Coal Run Village city limits, the press release said.
KSP troopers joined the chase near the intersection of U.S. 23 and Main Street in Coal Run, the release said, and the pursuit continued north on U.S. 23 into Floyd County, ending near Ivy Creek at Ivel.
During the pursuit, three marked Kentucky State Police cruisers were struck by the fleeing vehicle causing minor damage to all three cruisers.
Brock, the driver of the Chrysler, was arrested without further incident, the release said. A woman and an 18-month-old child were also in the vehicle, the KSP said.

Brock was charged by KSP with first-degree fleeing or evading police in a motor vehicle; three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer; three counts of first-degree criminal mischief; first-degree wanton endangerment; endangering the welfare of a minor; operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance, aggravated circumstance; operating on a suspended or revoked license; second-degree possession of a controlled substance (hallucinogen); and drug paraphernalia.
Brock was additionally charged by the Pikeville Police Department.
Brock was lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center.
