Person Killed in Last Week’s Lawrence County Crash Identified

LOUISA — A crash between a tractor-trailer and another vehicle killed a man near the Rt. 645 intersection at mile point 5.5 in Lawrence County, and shut down U.S. 23, from 7 a.m. until approximately 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 6.
Troopers said that a vehicle driven by James Neal Sisco, 49, of Meally was traveling southbound when he crossed the median and struck a tractor-trailer in the northbound lane head-on. Sisco was pronounced dead at the scene. He was transported to Frankfort for a full autopsy.
The driver of the tractor trailer was transported to the hospital with injuries.
Sisco is survived by his parents, James Harold Sisco and Carolyn Castle Sisco of Meally; his fiancee’, Sharon Vicars of Lowmansville; a sister, Jasmine Banks of Van Lear; as well as his nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 10, in the chapel of the Phelps and Son Funeral Home with burial in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, with Paul Wayne Browning and Ronnie Spriggs officiating.
