Paintsville Woman Wants to Enter Guilty Plea on Drug Charges
Case Being Reviewed by Federal Judge

PIKEVILLE- A Johnson County woman who is currently charged with three counts of distributing methamphetamine said she now wants to enter a guilty plea in a federal drug case, after reaching an agreement with prosecutors on Thursday, Sept. 25.
Jennifer Perez, 48, of Paintsville, was indicted in the United States District Court in Pikeville Thursday, April 24, on 3 counts of drug charges.
The indictment states that on the first count Feb. 10, of this year, Jennifer Perez did knowingly and intentionally distribute a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of Methamphetamine, a scheduled II controlled substance.
The indictment also stated on the second and third count that Perez did intentionally distribute 50 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of Methamphetamine, a scheduled II controlled substance.
On Thursday, her attorney asked that she be allowed to change her plea, after reaching a plea agreement. The details of that agreement have not yet been disclosed.
That request is currently being reviewed by a judge who will decide whether or not to allow it.
Perez is currently scheduled to go on trial on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
