LOUISA — The identity of a person who died in a crash at approximately 7 a.m., Tuesday morning on U.S.23, at mile point 5.5 in Lawrence County had not been released at press time.
Troopers reportedly said that a tractor trailer traveling south crossed the median and hit a vehicle head-on and both lanes were closed until shortly after 2 p.m. The person who was driving the passenger vehicle died and they also haven’t released whether it was a male or a female, nor whether anyone else was in the vehicle with them.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced the closure shortly after it happened and advised motorists to seek an alternate route of travel, adding that at that time, they were unsure when the road would re-open.
