LOUISA — No arrests have been made in an armed robbery involving a knife last Tuesday, April 27, at Walgreens in Louisa.

Louisa Police Chief Greg Fugitt asks for the public’s help in identifying the person driving away from the scene in a stolen vehicle, which is posted on the department’s Facebook page.

The Louisa Police Department was dispatched to the armed robbery at Walgreens at 3:40 p.m. April 27.

“Walgreens employees advised the Lawrence County 911 Center that a white male with dark hair, white shorts and no shoes nor shirt had presented a knife, demanded various medications and then began fleeing the store but not before defecating on himself,” a press release said. “The subject fled in an unknown direction in a 2002 purple/blue Nissan Xterra with license plate, WV 7SL910, which is linked with a theft complaint in Wayne County, W.Va.”

Fugitt said in the release that the individual seen in the stolen vehicle in the photo is wanted for questioning and that his office was waiting on Walgreens to provide video footage for a clearer facial image.

The case remains under investigation by Det. Hunter James and Patrolman Teddy Newsome.
