The Fallsburg Fire Department was dispatched to the Yatesville Lake Dam area Thursday, evening, June 20, around 8:30 p.m., to search for a missing man who was believed to be injured and endangered. After a few hours they were able to locate the man from Fort Gay, West Virginia, in the woods who told emergency responders he was in fear for his life.
He was transported by ambulance to Three Rivers Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries.
According to Kentucky State Police Public Relations Trooper Jerry Sparks, no arrests were made as the victim refused to cooperate and press charges.
“We respect the individuals’ decision and have concluded our involvement in the matter accordingly,” said KSP Trooper Sparks.
Fallsburg was assisted by Louisa Fire Dept. Stations 1&2, LC Emergency Management, LC Search and Rescue, Kentucky State Troopers, LC 911 dispatchers, Yatesville Lake Marina and US Corp of Engineers, Boyd County Search and Rescue and the anonymous boaters who helped scan the lake in the area the person was last seen.
