A Martin County man will spend nearly nine years in prison and continue on with 3 years of supervised release following his guilty plea of the role he played in a drug conspiracy and trafficking in Huntington, WV.

Kody Harless, 26, of Tomahawk, was sentenced in federal court Thursday, March 5, after he entered a guilty plea on Monday, Nov. 24, 2025, to possession of fentanyl with the intent to distribute.

Court records determined that Harless obtained 4.75 grams of fentanyl from a source in Huntington. He was arrested in a traffic stop afterward on August 15, 2023 and reportedly admitted to police that he had intended to distribute some of the fentanyl.

Harless also admitted to taking part in a larger conspiracy to distribute meth and fentanyl from July to November of 2023, traveling to the Huntington area to obtain the drugs and distributing them back in Kentucky where he would sell them.

Harless was among 27 individuals indicted in a case alleging they participated in a drug trafficking organization responsible for distributing large quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl in the Huntington area.
