LPD Announces New Police Sergeant

Louisa Police Officer Teddy Newsome has been named as the Louisa Police Department’s new Sergeant.

Newsome has been serving as the city code enforcement officer, alcohol beverage control administrator, evidence officer and youth explorer program for several years.

Louisa Police Chief Steven Wilburn said Newsome has taken on helping with administrative duties along with his various other responsibilities. “He has demonstrated leadership in carrying out those tasks, said Chief Wilburn. “His promotion to sergeant recognizes his commitment to moving the department forward and his hard work.”
