Louisa to kick off holiday season Nov. 30 with annual Christmas Parade/Activities

The City of Louisa is kicking off the holiday season with the annual Christmas Parade on Thursday, Nov. 30, beginning at 6 p.m. This year’s theme is “Celebrating The Spirit of Christmas.” Winners of the 2023 Float Contest will be announced at the Main Street Park following the parade. This year first place will receive $100, second place, $75 and third place, $50.

The parade will have something for everyone to enjoy, from fire trucks to illuminated floats and will end with a special appearance from Santa and Mrs. Clause in their sleigh.

Following the parade, everyone is welcome to come to the Main Street Park for activities. There will be concessions along with holiday pop-up vendors, lighting of the annual Memory Tree. The Ugly Sweater 5-K will also be held.
