Louisa Northeast Head Start’s Early Program to have “Grand Opening”

A grand opening will take place at the Louisa Head Start, 409 West Pike Street, Louisa on Friday, Feb. 9, at the lower level of the building, beginning at 11 a.m.

Family Advocate Tessia Dotson stated, “This is a wonderful opportunity that Northeast gets to bring more child care in the area where it is much needed. These children will get to learn social/emotional skills at such a young age. This makes it even better for when our Head Start kids transition to Kindergarten. We now get the ability to keep children from the time they turn six weeks of age all the way till they are five. We will continue to have a very family involved program.”

Come and join us for this wonderful service that we will be offering in Lawrence County. The Early Head Start serves children six weeks of age to thirty-six months and after a child turns three years of age our program transitions them to our Head Start program. Head Start serves children three to five years of age. The mission of Head Start and Early Head Start is to provide a quality, comprehensive program based on individualized needs of our children and families that enhance their self-esteem, foster self-sufficiency and promote success throughout life.
