PAINTSVILLE — AppleTown Productions will be producing the musical “Little Shop of Horrors” at the Historic Sipp Cinema in Paintsville, Kentucky on July 14, 15, 21, and 22, 2023 at 7:00 PM.

“Little Shop of Horrors,” is a musical based on the 1986 movie of the same name. A run-down flower shop on Skid Row experiences lots of changes when a mysterious fly-trap-like plant is brought to the shop by Seymour Krelborn. During the show, we discover what the plant wants and an unlikely hero. A mystery, camp comedy, love story, and horror romp rolled into one, Little Shop of Horrors offers a little something for everyone.

The production features performances by talented members of the eastern Kentucky community, many of whom are familiar faces from Johnson Central High School Players productions and other AppleTown Productions. Noah Estep, a 2023 graduate of JCHS, is playing the hapless Seymour; Cassie Ann Hites, a music teacher in Eastern Kentucky, is portraying the iconic Audrey; and Alexis Blair, a 2022 graduate of JCHS, provides the voice of Audrey II, the ever-hungry plant.

AppleTown Productions is an all adult company of the Main Street Players which is a 501c3 nonprofit organization committed to providing quality theatre experiences in Paintsville, Kentucky. The organization focuses on giving adults in our community the chance to perform and entertain our friends and neighbors. “Little Shop of Horrors,” is the third AppleTown feature following “Momma Mia,” and “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.”
