LC 2023 Bicentennial Septemberfest, Sept. 8 and 9

LOUISA —The schedule for events and entertainment of the Lawrence County 2023 Bicentennial Septemberfest on Sept. 8 and 9.
On Friday, Sept. 8, information booths open at 9 a.m. on South Main Cross Street; at 10 a.m., the arts and craft booths open on East Main Street and food vendors located all around the festival will open at 11 a.m.
At 3 p.m., carnival rides and games will open on East Perry Street and the opening ceremony will take place on the Main Stage at 4 p.m., followed by entertainment from Laura Louisa at 4:30 p.m.; Luna and the Mountain Jets at 6 p.m.; Iron Horse at 7:30 p.m. and Town Mountain at 9:30 p.m., all on the Main Stage. The festival closes at 11 p.m.
On Saturday, Sept. 9, the festivities start early with a Masonic Lodge Pancake Breakfast at 7 a.m. at the Vinson Ave. Lodge; 8 a.m. the 5K-walk/run at the Lawrence County High School located on Bulldog Lane.
Food vendors and information booths open at 9 a.m. all around the festival and the parade line up will also begin at 9 a.m. at the Plaza and Bypass.
From 10 a.m. to noon, car registration at the First Baptist Church on Lady Washington Street, the show will take place from noon to 2:30 p.m. and the judging will be at 1 p.m., however winners won’t be announced until 2:30 p.m.
The 35th annual Septemberfest parade will begin at 11 a.m. Line-up is in the Louisa Plaza.
Newly added entertainment, Holly Forbes, one of the top 10 from Season 21 of The Voice will appear at 2 p.m. at the Masterpiece Café’, followed by The Chuck Robertson Project at 4 p.m. at the Masterpiece Café’.
The Lawrence County Saddle Club Trail Ride will begin at 1 p.m. at the Lawrence County Horse Park.
Also, at 1 p.m., entertainment will start at the Louisa City Park with Solid Ground performing at 1 p.m.; Fenced In at 3 p.m. and Appalachian Road Show at 5 p.m.
Additional entertainment at the Main Stage will include Rachel Messer and Connor Dale at 4:30 p.m.; Laid Back Country Picker at 6 p.m.; American Idol Winner, Noah Thompson at 7:45 p.m. and the main act, Steel Driver at 9:30 p.m.
