Lawrence man charged with distributing child porn

ADAMS — A Lawrence county man was arrested Thursday on child sexual exploitation offenses. Matthew Howard, 34, is charged with 20 counts of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. An undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a residence in Adams on Thursday, during which equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to the Kentucky State Police forensic laboratory for examination. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering Howard uploading images of child sexual exploitation online, according to a release issued by the KSP. The investigation is ongoing. Howard was taken into custody and lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Johnson County.
