‘Lawrence County’s Got Talent’ slated this weekend

LOUISA — Several performers have already been approved for “Lawrence County’s Got Talent,” which will be held this weekend at the Lawrence County Community Center.

Currently signed up to perform in the 10, year-old and under category are Kierra Caudill, 9, “We Will Rock You” by Queen; Madison Ash, 9, “Jolene” by Dolly Parton; and Jacob Holt, 7, dancing to “Space Cowboy.”

Competing in the 11-17-year-old category are Loud Diversion featuring Grant Stalvey, Ethan Burgess and Trey Hall, 17, and Taylor Moore, 11, “Tightrope” by Michelle Williams; Lauran Hogston, 17, “What About Us” by Pink; Haylee Pavlovski, 15, “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars; and Brooklyn Music, 14, “Poor Unfortunate Soul” “The Little Mermaid.”

Performing in the 18 year-old and older category will be Josh Slone, “Fire Away” by Chris Stapleton; James Maynard, “Perfume Powder and Lead”; Daphne Ash, “Easy On Me” by Adele; Daniel Ash, “Two Dozen Roses” by Shenandoah; Arthur and Noah Johnson; Lacy Dillon, “You Were Meant for Me” by Jewel; Joshua Waugh and Jay Mabry, an original song; and Savanna Wright, guitar.

All acts must be pre-approved before showing on Feb. 25-26. No weapons of any kind allowed, no foul language, dangerous or threatening acts will be permitted.

All acts on Feb. 25 will get 90 seconds to show their talent, and the top five from each category will come back Feb. 26 for a final show, during which participants will receive three minutes for their act.

Performers who require music will need to bring it on a CD; a microphone will be provided, but any other items needed are the responsibility of the contestant.

Both show starts at 6 p.m., and all contestants will need to be at the Lawrence County Community Center by 5:30 p.m.
