The Lawrence County Time Capsule Project is moving forward now that the envelopes have been delivered.

The envelopes for the project are 9X12 and can be filled with stories, letter, etc., and be placed in the time capsule to be read by whoever they have been addressed to be opened by 50 years from now in 2074.

Once an envelope is bought and filled by the purchaser it will be put in a vault (time capsule) and buried within the city limits and in 50 years it will be opened by a committee of current Lawrence County High School Seniors.

The deadline to purchase an envelope is Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024 and they are available at the Lawrence County Public Library. Cash and checks are accepted and should be made payable to The City of Louisa

All proceeds will be given to the city only for project use and any remaining funds will be kept by the city for improvements.

The capsule is scheduled to be buried in December. For more information contact Caleb Farley caleb.farley@gmail.com or Joey McClanahan goosemc32@yahoo.com.
