Lawrence County students bring home awards at HOSA State Leadership Conference

Lawrence County High School students attended the HOSA state leadership conference at the Crown Plaza-Airport, Louisville, March 20-22, where many students competed in various competitions in the healthcare field.

Students who placed at the SLC from Lawrence County High School were: Alex DeSario, 2nd place in medical math; Makenzie McDonald, 2nd place in personal care; Anna Salyers, Paisley Fyffe and Shelbie Preece, placed in the top 5 for health education. These students are now eligible to attend the International Conference in Nashville, TN this summer.

Both Louisa and Blaine Middle School attended their first ever State Leader Conference and brought home some outstanding achievements.

Health Career Display Team - 1st place, Bella Griffith and Alexis Patrick (Blaine); Foundations of Vet Science - 2nd place, Natalee West (Blaine); Exploring Medical Innovations Team - 1st place, Aubrey Brady, Lauren Sammons, McKinley Burton and Zoe Wells (Louisa); Foundations in Nutrition - 3rd place, Piper Ward (Louisa); Math for Health Careers - 2nd place, Elizabeth Mynhier (Louisa); Health Career Exploration -1st place, Isabella Fannin (Louisa); Prepared Speaking - 1st place, Brianna Janka Ashley (Louisa); Extemporaneous Health Poster -1st place, Anna Hylton (Louisa); Foundations of Medical Terminology -1st place, Violet Muncy (Louisa).

These students also qualify for the International Conference being held in Nashville, TN, in June.
