Lawrence County Grand Jury Issues Eight Indictments

LOUISA —The Lawrence County Grand Jury issued eight true bills on June 8.
•Thomas Lee McCoy, 53, of Louisa, is charged with first-degree sodomy.
On or about or before May 24, McCoy allegedly knowingly and unlawfully engaged in deviate sexual intercourse with another person, a minor less that 12-years-old.
•Clarence Harless, 51, of Louisa, is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and first-degree persistent felony offender.
On Feb. 24, Harless was allegedly trafficking in .643 grams of methamphetamine. With a previous conviction of KRS 218a.1412 and because he was convicted of two prior felonies and the current charge, he is now being charged as a first-degree persistent felony offender.
Harless is charged in a second indictment with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance; first-degree persistent felony offender and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Feb. 25, Harless, was allegedly in possession of plastic baggies, digital scales, approximately 20.45 grams of methamphetamine and $100 in cash with the intent to traffic Methamphetamine; he is also a previously convicted felon and he was in possession of a syringe.
•Rockie Messer, 31, of Kermit, W.Va., is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
On or before May 11, Messer was allegedly in possession of Heroin and he operated a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or other substances.
•Allen Presley, 44, of Louisa, is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
On Feb. 24, Presley allegedly trafficked in 1.803 grams of methamphetamine.
•George Lowe, 42, of Louisa, is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance.
On or before Apr. 8, Lowe was allegedly in possession of 8.00 grams of methamphetamine.
•Greg Bowen Sr., 50, of Catlettsburg, is charged with first-degree criminal mischief.
On May 24, Bowen allegedly damaged a 1998 Toyota 4-runner, owned by Mark Fitzpatrick of Lexington, with a value of the damages at approximately $1,000.
•Jeannie Hicks, 44, of Sandy Hook, is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance; possession/drug paraphernalia; operating a motor vehicle on a suspended or revoked license; failure of owner to maintain required insurance and rear license not illuminated.
On or before May 10, Hicks was allegedly in possession of methamphetamine, and an altered glass pipe; she operated a motor vehicle while her license was suspended or revoked, without insurance and without properly illuminating the rear license.
