Lawrence County Fiscal Court Presents Donation

THE LAWRENCE COUNTY Fiscal Court, Lawrence County Judge Executive Phil Carter and Deputy Judge Vince Doty recently presented Lawrence County Superintendent Katie Webb a donation of $49,000 from the Opioid Settlement Fund. Doty said the funds will be used to purchase literature and programs for classroom and also counselors who will teach children on drug prevention.

“There has been so much emphasis and funds placed towards recovery in the last several years and it seems like prevention has been tossed to the side,” said Doty. “It is time to provide funds that are geared towards drug prevention for our children. In order to help stop this drug epidemic we need to reach out to our children at an early age and through all schools.” Submitted photo
