Lawrence County BBQ Cookoff

The first-ever BBQ Cookoff was held in downtown Louisa on Saturday, Aug. 13. The event included categories, pulled pork, pulled chicken, and ribs, with the triple crown for competing in all three. Trophies and cash awards were given to Randy’s Red White and Backyard BBQ (Rebecca Cardwell) for best ribs, and R Square of Louisville won for both pulled pork and chicken. They also received the overall Triple Crown award. The winners were also awarded a home-crafted wooden flag made by Tomblin Flags (Frances and Joe Tomblin) of Louisa. Money raised from the event will be presented to the city upgrade the Louisa Main Street Park.
