Lawrence blaze claims life of woman

FALLSBURG — A woman died in a house fire early Tuesday morning along 3D Road in the Fallsburg area of Lawrence County.

Lawrence County Coroner Wes Heston responded to a call from Lawrence County 911 concerning the incident and arrived on scene to assist multiple agencies, including the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, the Fallsburg and Louisa volunteer fire departments and Kentucky State Police.

Heston said in the release that the woman was pronounced dead on the scene at 1:32 a.m. and that there were two survivors. Names are not being released at this time, Heston said.

Heston said that the fire and death are under the investigation of Kentucky State Police, the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and the Lawrence County Coroner’s Office in conjunction with the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort.
