KSP Investigating Murder in Floyd County

PIKEVILLE — The Kentucky State Police in Pikeville, are investigating the murder of Amber Spradlin.

The State Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that Spradlin, 39, had been murdered and that she had multiple stab wounds.

The KSP said in their release that they began investigating Spradlin’s murder on June 18, after they received the report of a deceased female at a residence on Arkansas Creek in the Martin community of Floyd County.

During the course of their investigation, the release said detectives have interviewed several members of the community and executed numerous search warrants for residences, electronic devices and physical evidence which included DNA evidence which has been submitted to the KSP Laboratory and they are waiting on the results.

Since the investigation began, KSP detectives have received numerous tips from the community regarding the investigation, the release said and to ensure the investigation is thorough as possible, they investigate every tip or piece of information they receive.

This has resulted in countless hours of investigating tips that were hearsay or otherwise false, the release said.

The KSP would like to ask the public to contact them at 606-433-7711 with any credible information regarding the investigation and to keep in mind that the detectives must investigate each tip that come in so relay only credible information, the release said.
