KSP Investigating a two-vehicle Fatal Collision in Magoffin Co.

SALYERSVILLE — Kentucky State Police are investigating a two-vehicle fatal collision in Magoffin County on Oct. 18.

Justin Jarrell, 26, of Dana, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Magoffin Coroner’s Office.

A release issued by the KSP said through investigation, they determined that Jarrell was operating a 2020 Honda Accord when his vehicle struck a bridge embankment and collided with a 2003 Freightliner Motorhome, operated by Thomas Lidster, 43, of Robinson Creek, on Bert T. Combs Mountain Parkway in the Salyersville community of Magoffin County.

Jarrell graduated from Prestonsburg High School and played baseball there for three years and HAP Little League All-Stars for two years.

In addition to his mother Belinda, he is survived by two brothers; Christopher Jordan Jarrell and Cody Jared Jarrell; one sister, Kayla Madison Jarrell; grandparents; Troy and Elizabeth Justice Jarrell as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were conducted Monday at the Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Brent Tackett officiating. Burial followed in the Jarrell Cemetery at Samson Fork in Dana under the direction of Hall Funeral Home in Martin.
