KSP investigates motorcycle accident in Floyd County

PRESTONSBURG — Kentucky State Police Post 9, Pikeville, was notified of a single-vehicle collision at approximately 6:37 p.m. on Thursday, March 26. The crash occurred on Kentucky Route 1428 in the Prestonsburg community of Floyd County.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Shane Gregory Allen, 40, of Martin, was operating a 2008 Honda Silver Wing motorcycle when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole. Mr. Allen was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Floyd County Coroner’s Office.

The collision remains under investigation by Trooper Shaun Little. Trooper Little was assisted at the scene by personnel from Post 9 and local first responder agencies.

Mr. Allen is survived by his parents, Bobby and Tara Allen; wife, Talina Allen; and five children.

Funeral services were March 30, at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home, Martin. Burial was in Henry Tackett Cemetery, Melvin.
