LOUISA — A Lawrence County man was arrested Nov. 21, at his residence on Old River Road in Louisa, for sex crimes.

Jerod Kelly, 35, is charged with 10 counts of distribution of obscene matter to minors; 10 counts of procuring a minor by electronic means and one count of third-degree terroristic threatening.

A release issued by the Kentucky State Police said they, in collaboration with the West Virginia Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force and the Ashland Police Department arrested Kelly following the execution of a search warrant at his residence.

The execution of the search warrant resulted in the seizure of evidence directly linked to the commission of the crimes, the release said.

The investigation prompted by an allegation, revealed that Kelly used Facebook and Facebook Messenger to solicit juvenile females into sending explicit images of themselves, the release said.

Kelly is currently in custody at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center and will face legal proceedings for his charges, the release also said.

The investigation is ongoing and additional details will be released as they become available. Detective David Boarman is the lead investigator in the case.
