Johnson County Grand Jury April meeting results in 17 indictments

The Johnson County Grand Jury met in regular session which resulted in 17 indictments for the month of April.
•Bryanna Chapman, 18, of Meally, was charged with criminal abuse in the first degree, when on Aug. 22, 2023, he committed the offense of unlawfully abusing a minor under the age of 12 causing serious physical injury, torture, cruel confinement or punishment.
•Stephen W. Hatton, 57, was charged with trafficking in a controlled substance in the first degree and persistent felony offender when on June 5, 2024, he unlawfully committed the offense of being in possession of 6.170 grams of Methamphetamine with the intent to traffic in it.
•Shelly Preston Meade, 44, of Paintsville, was charged with trafficking in the first degree, trafficking in a controlled substance first degree, persistent felony offender when on March 3, she committed the offense of unlawfully being in possession of Fentanyl 8.835 grams, $907 in cash money and 2 digital scales with the intent to traffic. She also committed the offense of trafficking in Methadone and in possession of 24.5 dosage units with the intent to sale.
•John D. May, 58, of Salyersville, was charged with promoting contraband in the first degree and persistent felony offender when on March 6, he unlawfully committed the offense of introducing, obtaining, or possessing a controlled substance into the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center namely Methamphetamine.
•Donald Meek, 34, of Thelma, was charged with two counts of assault in the 3rd degree (police officer), disorderly conduct 2nd degree, resisting arrest, menacing when on Feb. 12, he unlawfully caused physical injury or attempted to cause physical injury to Officer Isaac Bowen and Sebastian Shepherd, both of The Paintsville Police Department while they were acting in their official capacity. He also committed the offense of unlawfully engaging in fighting or violent or threatening behavior in a public place with the intent to cause public inconvenience, annoyance and alarm. The indictment also stated that he committed the offense of trying to prevent officers from effecting an arrest and placed multiple residents in an apartment in reasonable apprehension of imminent physical injury.
•Carl Perkins II, 27, of Paintsville, was charged with burglary in the 3rd degree (complicity), persistent felony offender and criminal mischief in the first degree (complicity) when on Sept. 29, 2024, he unlawfully committed the offense of acting alone or in complicity with another of entering and remaining in a building operated by the Johnson County Fish and Game Club with the intent to commit a crime therein. The indictment also states that he also acted alone or in complicity of another committed the offense of damaging, defacing or destroying property owned by the JC Fish and Game Club with the total amount of damages totaling $1,786.
•Buddy Horn 59, of Debord, was charged with possession of a controlled substance 1st degree, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, possession of marijuana, use/ possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to signal, no operators license and license to be in possession when on November 8, 2024 he unlawfully committed the offense of being in possession of .739 grams of Methamphetamine, driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of marijuana, rolling papers and a metal grinder and being on the roadway without a license to operate a vehicle.
•Terry Daniels, 58, of Paintsville, was charged with possession of a handgun by a felon when on Feb. 19, he unlawfully committed the offense of having a Heritage brand .22 caliber handgun after having previously being convicted of a felony in Johnson County.
•William Stapleton, 51, Terry Daniels, 48, and William Blair, 63, all of Paintsville, were charged with possession of a controlled substance 1st degree (complicity) when on Feb. 19, they committed the offense of unlawfully being in possession of 69.4 grams of Methamphetamine.
•Michael Hollan, 46, of Paintsville, was charged with possession of a controlled substance 1st degree when on Jan. 16, he committed the offense of unlawfully being iin possession of 0.026 grams of Methamphetamine.
•Laura Williams, 54, of Paintsville, was charged with possession of a controlled substance 1st degree, possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree, possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication when on Nov. 8, 2024, she committed the offense of unlawfully being in possession of 0.028 grams of Methamphetamine, six dosage units of Diazepam, a glass pipe and was intoxicated in public excluding alcohol.
•Robin Profitt, 41, of Salyersville, is charged with assault in the 3rd degree when on Jan. 9, she unlawfully caused injury or attempted to cause injury to Patricia Foley a healthcare provider at ARH in Paintsville.
•Machelle Blevins, 32, (homeless), was charged with promoting contraband in the first degree when on March 25, she unlawfully committed the offense of introducing, obtaining, or possessing a controlled substance into the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center namely Methamphetamine.
•Hoker Maynard, 38, of Salyersville, was charged with tampering with physical evidence when on April 1, he committed the offense of unlawfully removing or concealing physical evidence that he believed would be used against him in an official proceeding, namely Suboxone while incarcerated in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
