Johnson County GJ Returns with Nine True Bills in October Meeting

The Johnson County Grand Jury came back with nine indictments during their session Thursday, Oct. 16.
Among those indicted were:
•Gregory Lyons, 52, of Flat Gap, charged with 1st degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) from an incidence occurring on Jan. 5.
•Jason Golden, 47, of Paintsville, charged with (2) counts of 3rd degree assault (police officer), 3rd degree terroristic threatening, resisting arrest, menacing from an incident occurring on Oct. 4, when he attempted to cause physical injury to Deputy Nathan Collins (inmate assault on Correctional Employee), threatening deputies with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and attempting to prevent Deputies Collins and Jeff Castle from effecting an arrest by using physical force.
•John Wayne Fairchild, 52, of Van Lear, charged with 1st degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), use/possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, 4th degree assault from an incident occurring on Aug. 24.
•Austin Hayden, 29, of Prestonsburg, charged with theft by unlawful taking (firearm) from an incident that occurred on Aug. 19, when he committed the offense of unlawfully taking a Taurus Brand .38 caliber handgun owned by Tanya Goble.
•Caleb Rowland, 29, of Flat Gap, charged with 1st degree criminal mischief from an incident that occurred on Sept. 4, when he committed the offense of destroying property located at Fox Hunters Ridge owned by Big Sandy Rural Electric Cooperative with a total value of damages $1,190.65.
•Robert Lincoln Williamson, II, 54, of Wittensville, charged with theft by deception over $1,000 under $10,000, theft by deception over $10,000 (2 counts), persistent felony offender.
•Scotty Dorton, 51, of Thelma, charged with theft of a mail matter from an incident that occurred on Sept. 10, when he unlawfully destroyed, stole, obtained, concealed, or damaged mail belonging to Steve Blair and Brenda Solomon.
•Jonathan Mayhan, age unknown, of Nippa, charged with 1st degree possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), use/possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless driving from an incident that occurred on Oct. 14.
•Keith D. Jackson, 61, of Oil Springs, charged with 1st degree trafficking in a controlled substance 37.862 grams of methamphetamine, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol 4th offense within 10 years, driving on DUI suspended license 2nd offense within 10 years (aggravated circumstances), possession of marijuana and license to be in possession.
