RIVERFRONT ROAD — Four men were arrested at Riverfront Road in the Lovely community of Martin County Dec. 23 on drug-related charges.
Robert Drenning, 44, is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, greater or equal to two grams of methamphetamine, and criminal littering.
Aaron Jude, 25, of Dunlow, W.Va., is charged with drug paraphernalia-buy/possess.
Timothy Stacy, 49, of Inez, is charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, greater or equal to two grams of methamphetamine.
Ryan Stumbo, 29, of Dunlow, is charged with drug paraphernalia-buy/possess and first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, greater or equal to two grams of methamphetamine.
According to the arrest reports, 9.939 grams of methamphetamine was found inside Drenning’s residence at 4983 Riverfront Road, and both Stacy and Stumbo were inside the trailer at the time. Drenning signed a consent to search the trailer, the report said.
One set of digital scales and three bags of a crystal-like substance were found inside the bathroom along with one blue bag with a brown-like substance inside, the report said. One clear, tied-up bag with a crystal-like substance inside was found under the house, beneath the bathroom, the report said.
There was a small hole inside the bathroom where the two items had been dropped, the report said.
Martin County Sheriff John Kirk and Deputy William Lafferty found a large amount of trash on the back porch, the report said, and Drenning had been given several opportunities in the past to get the trash picked up but hadn’t done it.
Stumbo was inside the residence, and K-9 officer Grim was walked around Stumbo’s vehicle, where he indicated several times, the report said.
After searching Stumbo’s vehicle, one fake brake cleaner can was found, the report said, and the bottom of the can could be pulled off. Nine individual bags were located inside the can, and Stumbo had $190 dollars cash in his wallet, the report said.
Jude pulled into the residence while the sheriff and deputies were conducting their investigation, and when Kirk made contact with him, he stated that he had two syringes and a marijuana pipe on him, the report said.
Jude handed over the items to Kirk without having to search him, the report said.
All four men were taken into custody and transported to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Johnson County.
