Floyd Sheriff's house lost in fire

Floyd County Sheriff John Hunt’s house in Prestonsburg was destroyed by fire Monday night. Hunt issued a “thank you” on Facebook Tuesday morning to “our many friends who have sent messages of concern, offered assistance and who have prayed for my family.” The sheriff also thanked the members of the Prestonsburg Fire Department, saying their “professionalism and heroism is nothing short of” exemplary. “The fire took away our house but it did not take away our family,” he said. “We still ask for your prayers as we will work to rebuild our house and move on with our daily lives.”
