Early voting begins for Nov. 3 election

LOUISA — Early voting for the Nov. 3 election began Tuesday in Kentucky, with county clerks providing locations for voters to cast their ballots in person. Early in-person voting is available every work day between now and Election Day and every Saturday for up to four hours, according to Secretary of State Michael Adams. In Lawrence County, in-person voting is available at the county courthouse from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Johnson County voters can cast ballots in the lobby of their courthouse from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Martin County residents can vote in the county clerk’s office from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Several early in-person voting locations are available in Floyd County, including in the county clerk’s main office in Prestonsburg from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. The clerk’s main office is the only location where Saturday voting is offered. Other Monday through Friday locations include the Eastern Branch of the Floyd County Public Library from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., the clerk’s McDowell office from 8 a.m. to 3:31 p.m. and the clerk’s Betsy Layne office from 8 a.m. to 3:32 p.m. All counties will also provide in-person voting at various locations on Election Day. Those locations include: • Lawrence County: Lawrence County High School (super center for all voters as well as Meadowbrook, Stella Moore, Adams, Springhill and Cherryville precincts); Louisa Senior Citizens Center (West Louisa, East Louisa and Point precincts); Fallsburg Elementary School (Buchanan, Fallsburg and Deephole precincts); Blaine Elementary School (Brushy, Blaine and Martha precincts); Webbville Volunteer Fire Department (Brammer Gap precinct); Clifford Gymnasium (Clifford and Cherryville precincts); and Emmanuel Baptist Church (Meades Branch and Richardson precincts). • Johnson County: Paintsville, Porter, Highland, W.R. Castle, Flat Gap and Central elementary schools, all of which are open to all voters. • Martin County: Inez Elementary, Eden Elementary, Warfield Middle School and Pigeon Roost Community Center, all of which are open to all voters. • Floyd County: Mountain Arts Center, Floyd County Cooperative Extension, Big Sandy Area Development District, Stumbo/Wilkinson Convention Center, Allen Elementary School, Allen Fire Department, Prestonsburg Elementary School, Floyd County Board of Education, Floyd Central High School, Martin Community Center, Renaissance Learning Center at Martin, DAV Building at McDowell, South Floyd High School, former Wheelwright School Cafeteria, John M. Stumbo School, D’s Grocery at Teaberry, the Old Prater School Lunchroom and the Betsy Layne Elementary School Gym, all of which are open to all voters.
