Blaine man charged with threatening to kill constable

BLAINE — A Blaine man was arrested on Oct. 7 for allegedly threatening to kill a Lawrence County constable. Corbie Fyffe, 57, is charged with intimidating a participant in the legal process for allegedly making multiple threats to kill” Constable Daniel Castle with a handgun, according to a criminal complaint. “Kentucky State Police Officer David Boarman of Post 14 stated that on Oct. 1, Fyffe unlawfully, by the use of physical force or threat, directed to a person he believed would be a participant in the legal process, influenced or attempted to influence the participant’s decision or opinion and has attempted to hinder, delay or prevent the communication to a law enforcement officer or judge of information relating to the possible commission of an offense,” the complaint says. Castle is a potential witness in an ongoing legal action against Fyffe, the complaint says. At the time of his arrest, Fyffe was found to be in possession of a substance believed to be meth, a release from the Lawrence County Constable’s Association said. “The Constables office owes Sheriff (Chuck) Jackson & the KSP troopers involved a great deal of gratitude for bringing this credible threat to a peaceful close,” the release said.
