Louisa set the scene once again for what is touted as the “Best Little Festival in Kentucky.”
Every year people from all over the state and neighboring states visit Louisa to enjoy the entertainment and festival atmosphere Septemberfest brings to Lawrence County and even though weather conditions threatened to hinder the activities, die hard festival goers kept on filling the streets.
Many people take advantage of this time to schedule high school class reunions around the festival so they can participate in the Septemberfest parade. This year classes 1975 and ’85 highlighted their classes down through the streets of Louisa.
This year’s festival brought out more local vendors, churches, civic groups and school organizations selling food than usual from the past years.
But overall, the mayor (who also serves as the festivals board chairperson) said he believed everything went very well and he was pleased with the way the festival went this year.
“Septemberfest was a tremendous success this year, even with the rain,” said Mayor Harold Slone. “The community came together, our vendors and performers were outstanding, and we’re grateful to everyone who supported and celebrated with us.”
Lawrence County Tourism Committee Wes Kingsmore, who takes his role in making the county a great place for people to come and visit said it was a fantastic weekend despite the weather.
“LC Tourism is ecstatic about the incredible turnout at the 2025 Septemberfest! I’m always in awe of our local community’s unwavering spirit, which is truly inspiring,” said Kinsmore. “We’re a shining example of resilience and determination. I had the pleasure of meeting a family who traveled from Maysville to Louisa, Kentucky, drawn by our fantastic entertainment, and they’re already planning their return.
Others made the journey from even farther away, and we were blessed to host every event without a hitch, despite some rain showers.”
