Benefit scheduled to help Blaine couple
Sickness has hit a Blaine family hard recently, so in response the community has stepped up to help.
A benefit dinner and silent auction will be held on Sunday, Aug. 24, from noon to 3 p.m., at the Cratis Williams (Blaine) Community Center, 600 Highway 2562, for Patsy and Fred Arrington.
Patsy recently began treatments for lung cancer and will be traveling back and forth for medical treatments, meanwhile her husband, Fred recently suffered a stroke and is currently in ICU in an area hospital.
You have your choice of dinners, one will consist of Soup beans, cornbread, fried taters, kraut and wieners, macaroni and tomatoes, dessert and a drink and the other will be fried chicken, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, biscuit, dessert and drink. Each one is a $5 donation, or you can certainly give more, all donations are appreciated.
Daniel Castle, Pastor of Blaine Church of God said “These are good people and truly need a little help. Let’s rally once again as a community of faith. I encourage you to surround the Arrington’s with prayer, with presence, and with practical help—showing the love of Christ that “bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things” (1 Corinthians 13:7).
