30 indictments returned by Lawrence Grand Jury

LOUISA – A total of 30 indictments were issued last week, with 16 dating from March 12 and 14 others from April 22.
Named in the true bills were:
William L. Copley, 47, of Fort Gay, W.Va., charged with two counts of first-degree possession of a controlled substance for allegedly possessing methamphetamine and fentanyl on Oct. 21, 2019.
Erica L. Young, 40, of Louisa, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance for allegedly possessing fentanyl on Nov. 15, 2019.
Fred C. Dean, 43, of Fort Gay, W.Va., charged with two counts of first-degree possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence for allegedly possessing methamphetamine and fentanyl on Oct. 21, 2019, and concealing, destroying or altering physical evidence that he believed would be used against him in an official proceeding.
Sammy L. Mosley, 54, of Louisa, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance for allegedly possessing fentanyl on Nov. 15, 2019.
Taylor Mills, 39, of Tomahawk, charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and second-degree persistent felony offender for allegedly trafficking in less than two grams of methamphetamine and possessing a loaded handgun on Dec. 12, 2019, after having been previously convicted of a felony in Martin County.
Melissa Wolford, 33, and Clarence Harless, 49, both of Louisa, charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance/complicity for allegedly, acting alone or in complicity with each other, trafficking in 0.581 grams of methamphetamine on Nov. 8, 2019
Wolford is charged in a second indictment with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, less than two grams, for allegedly trafficking in 0.264 grams of methamphetamine on the same day.
Doris McCoy, 46, of Louisa, and Clyde Pack, 27, of Fort Gay, W.Va., charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance/complicity for allegedly, acting alone or in complicity with each other, allegedly trafficking in 0.615 grams of methamphetamine on Aug. 23, 2019.
Keith Penix, 30, and Carl Marcum, 32, both of Louisa, charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance/complicity for allegedly, acting alone or in complicity with each other, trafficking in 0.874 grams of methamphetamine on Nov. 20, 2019.
Penix is also charged as a first-degree persistent felony offender and Marcum is charged as a second-degree persistent felony offender.
Joshua B. Pack, 35, of Louisa, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance for allegedly possessing methamphetamine on Nov. 4, 2019.
Bret M. Thomas, 30, of Fort Gay, W.Va., charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, less than two grams, and second-degree persistent felony offender for allegedly trafficking in 0.324 grams of methamphetamine on Aug. 22, 2019, and for having previously been convicted of a felony.
Willie C. Green, 36, of Blaine, charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance for allegedly trafficking in 0.219 grams of methamphetamine on Aug. 22, 2019.
Lloyd Brown, 50, of Louisa, charged with second-degree assault and second-degree persistent felony offender for allegedly intentionally assaulting Sheridan Frazier and causing physical injury by means of a deadly weapon or instrument on Jan. 25, 2020, and for having previously been convicted of a felony.
Hope Grissom, 43, of Dayton, Ohio, charged with importing heroin, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence and rear license not illuminated for allegedly importing 1.3 grams of heroin; trafficked in 2.8 grams of methamphetamine; destroying, removing, altering or concealing physical evidence that he believed would be used against him in an official proceeding; and operating a motor vehicle on a Kentucky roadway without a properly illuminated license plate on Feb. 20, 2020.
Joseph Adkins, 43, of Fort Gay, W.Va., charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance for allegedly possessing methamphetamine on March 2.
Nicholas Copley, 23, of Louisa, is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and rear license not illuminated for allegedly possessing methamphetamine and operating a motor vehicle on a Kentucky roadway without properly illuminated license plates on Jan. 22.
Laura Speakman, 32, of Fallsburg, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance for allegedly possessing methamphetamine on Jan. 10.
Hunter Hale, 19, of Louisa, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance for allegedly possessing methamphetamine on Jan. 22.
Ike Montgomery, 32, of an unknown location, charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and failure to or improper signal for allegedly possessing methamphetamine and failing to properly signal while operating a motor vehicle upon a Kentucky roadway on Jan. 24.
Sean Antis, 43, of East Point, charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance for allegedly trafficking in methamphetamine, digital scales, a ledger, a small quantity baggies and $363 in cash with the intent to traffic on Feb. 23.
James Keaton, 33, of Webbville, charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, fourth offense or greater within 10 years, and failure to wear a seat belt for allegedly operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or other substances that impair a driver’s ability to operate that motor vehicle and refusing consent for testing with three previous convictions and for not wearing a seat belt on Feb. 20.
Randy Wright, 32, of Louisa, charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance for allegedly trafficking 2.6 grams of methamphetamine, digital scales, baggies and $70 in cash money, with the intent to traffic the methamphetamine on Jan. 2.
Jeffrey David Clark, 56, of Fort Gay, and Bobby May, 51, of Louisa, charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance/complicity for allegedly, acting alone or in complicity with each other, trafficking in 8.50 grams of methamphetamine, digital scales, baggies and $900 in cash with the intent to traffic in the methamphetamine on March 5.
Douglas Wright, 44, of Salyersville, charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, fourth offense or greater within 10 years, for allegedly operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or other substances that impair a driver’s ability to operate that motor vehicle and refusing testing on Feb. 23 while having three previous convictions.
Maynard Hay, 70, of Huntington, W.Va., charged with first-degree fleeing or evading and first-degree wanton endangerment for allegedly disregarding signals and commands to stop given by Louisa police officer Michael Housinger and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputy Chase Kirk, with the intent to flee or elude his arrest, and engaging in conduct that created substantial danger of death or serious physical injury to Housinger on March 9.
Eddie Kennedy, 65, of Louisa, charged with receiving stolen property, a firearm, for allegedly possessing a Rossi Brand 22-caliber rifle stolen from Helen Church of Webbville from July 2, 2020, through July 8, 2020.
