Each year, the weekend following Labor day, the streets of Louisa, transform into one of best street festivals in Kentucky. Over a hundred food vendors offer some of the best festival food you will find at any fair or festival. Hometown folks take part in an hour long parade down Madison Street and multiple genres of entertainment perform in two different locations.

A fast growing craft show and sale takes place under a huge tent on East Perry Street.

Car show, pageants, fishing tournament, and carnival all round out one super fun weekend at the “Best Little Festival in Kentucky.”

That being said, the Lawrence County Septemberfest has announced that HunterGirl and Lorrie Morgan will be part of music line-up for the 2024 event.

Friday evening. Sept. 6, Guns for Hire will kick off the show at 6 p.m., HunterGirl will be taking the stage at 7:30, followed by Brit Taylor at 9:30.

Saturday evening, Sept. 7, the line-up will be Walker Montgomery at 6 p.m., Dillon Carmichael will follow up at 7:45, with Lorrie Morgan highlighting the evening at 9:30 p.m.

Since being named runner-up on season 20 of ABC’s American Idol, HunterGirl’s authenticity, unwavering tenacity and heart of gold have positioned her as Country’s next star, earning praise she’d only dreamed of – like Idol judge and Country icon Luke Bryan praised her as the “new age Miranda Lambert” and his “favorite female Country voice.”

Brit Taylor is a “what-you-see-is-what-you-get-kinda” gal. Whether you get to know her in person or through her music, you quickly learn that the country singer/songwriter, born and raised in eastern Kentucky’s Appalachian Mountains, embraces the traits of her home – family, faith and community – while expressing her independence with a sense of beauty, honor and humor. Today, she is devoted to artistic integrity, making music that matters, making music that has merit, making music that would make her Appalachian ancestors proud.

Walker Montgomery, chosen as an Artist to Watch in 2022 by Country Now and Music Mayhem Magazine; as well as Artist to Watch in 2021 by Sounds Like Nashville and The Boot and a Country Next pick by Country Now, is a rising singer/songwriter who knows a thing or two about family tradition, but he’s an artist making his own legacy. The 21-year-old son of John Michael Montgomery and nephew of Montgomery Gentry’s Eddie Montgomery, the emerging star was raised away from the spotlight in Nicholasville, Kentucky. But now that he’s found that spotlight on his own, Montgomery’s pedigree is matched only by his country passion.

Dillon Carmichael is an American country music singer. He signed to Riser House Entertainment in 2017 where he released his debut single, “Dancing Away With My Heart”. In 2021, Carmichael released the Hot Beer EP, which included the title single.

Lorrie Morgan, the first woman in her genre to begin her career with three consecutive Platinum albums, recently completed a new album with award-winning producer Richard Landis. Sadly, it is the final producing credit of Landis’ illustrious career, as he passed in 2023 prior to the completion of the album. Dead Girl Walking (Cleopatra Records) is sure to be yet another collection showcasing the rainbow of emotions, from darkest heartache to bright, shiny humor, that is the hallmark of Morgan’s range. The album is set for release in 2024.

Bluegrass music will also brighten the stage with three groups playing on Saturday afternoon.

Beginning at 1 p.m. Hammertowne will be on stage at the Louisa Main Street Park followed by Lonesome Express beginning at 3 p.m. The Grascals will finish up the bluegrass show starting at 5 p.m. “An old-fashioned downtown celebration for all to enjoy” said Louisa Mayor Harold Slone.
