PAINTSVILLE — 12-year old, Adalyn Ramey of Paintsville, is a singer and songwriter who says she has always heard guitar, mandolin or banjo playing somewhere. “You know, even when I was in the womb my dad would play music,” said Ramey.

Her father, Phillip said his daughter has a passion for what she does and he believes that will take her a long way.

According to the label executives at Dreamland Entertainment, Ramey is going to collaborate with musicians who have worked with acts like Ricky Skaggs and Alison Krauss.

“We are meeting artists, like Adalyn Ramey, where they are - both personally and professionally,” Producer and CEO Jonathan Goodwin said in a news release. “Dreamland Entertainment Group believes that talent can come from any place, background, culture, generation, or level of experience. While we promote the creation and monetization for entertainers, the core mission of Dreamland Entertainment Group will be to ‘Work in Concert’ in connecting artists and creatives with their audience, venues, sponsors, broadcasters, and buyers (consumers) of their merchandise.” “It’s just amazing that a place like this could have so many amazing artists,” Ramey said.

Paintsville is known for famous singers and songwriters such as Loretta Lynn, Chris Stapleton and Crystal Gayle.

The signing took place at the U.S. 23 Country Music Highway Museum on Friday, May 31. Ramey was surrounded by local faces who have already reached the place she wants to be. She said it is an inspiration to know dreams are attainable and she is working toward her future.
