West Virginia hoops teams sidelined due to COVID-19

FORT GAY, W.Va. — The Tolsia High School boys' and girls' basketball teams and hoops squads across West Virginia have been sidelined due to COVID-19.
On Friday, Nov. 13, West Virginia Governor Jim Justice made the announcement that West Virginia winter sports were halted until Jan. 11.
Justice issued an executive order pushing back the start of winter sports, affecting boys' and girls' basketball, swimming, wrestling and cheer.
Practice for West Virginia girls’ high school basketball started on Monday, Nov. 9. West Virginia boys' high school basketball teams were scheduled to open practice on Monday, Nov. 16.
COVID-19 has forced fall sports teams throughout West Virginia and Kentucky to alter their schedules in the first half of the 2020-21 schoolyear.
