Lawrence County to host Floyd Central for opener

LOUISA – Lawrence County is scheduled to host 58th District rival Floyd Central for an opener in the 2021 high school volleyball season on Monday, Aug. 16.
Head coach Autumn Blevins guides Lawrence County, which ended the COVID-shortened 2020 high school volleyball season 5-8.
Due to COVID, Lawrence County was unable to compete in the 2020 58th District Volleyball Tournament.
The reigning 58th District champion, Floyd Central concluded the 2020 high school volleyball season 11-3. Floyd Central reached the semifinals of the 2020 15th Region Volleyball Tournament.
In another 58th District match, Lawrence County is slated to visit Floyd Central on Tuesday, Sept. 21.
Lawrence County is scheduled to host the Bulldog Bash on Saturday, Aug. 28.
In an event later in the season, Lawrence County is due to travel north to Boyd County for the Lady Lions Invitational.
High school volleyball teams throughout the state are preparing for 2021 season openers.
Senior middle blockers Kyleah Ward and Holly Jordan and junior setter/outside hitter Timmy Ellis are among the players back on the court for 58th District member Lawrence County.
