LOUISA – Lawrence County has ended the 2020 high school football season 4-1.

Due to COVID-19, Lawrence County will not compete in the second round of the Class 3A UK Orthopaedics/KHSAA Commonwealth Gridiron Bowl. The Bulldogs were scheduled to face Class 8 rival Belfry on the road at CAM Stadium in Pike County in the second round of the Class 3A 2020 UK Orthopaedics/KHSAA Commonwealth Gridiron Bowl on Friday, Nov. 27.

Lawrence County defeated Pike County Central twice during the 2020 high school football season. Along with Pike County Central, Lawrence County notched wins over Class 3, District 8 counterparts Magoffin County and Floyd Central during its latest gridiron campaign.

Reigning Class 3A champion Belfry blanked Lawrence County 36-0 during the 2020 high school football regular season.

High school football teams from across the state have ended their seasons early due to COVID-19.
