Estep tabbed 15th Region Coach of the Year

PAINTSVILLE — Johnson Central head coach Joey Estep has been tabbed the 15th Region Coach of the Year.

Estep guided Johnson Central to a 25-15 record in the 2024 high school softball season. Johnson Central claimed the 57th District title and reached the semifinals of the 15th Region Softball Tournament. During the regular season, Johnson Central swept its 57th District opponents.

The coach of the year honorees from each of the state’s 16 regions follow.

1st Region Coach of the Year: Mikey Myers (Paducah Tilghman), 2nd Region Coach of the Year: Jason Scott (Webster County), 3rd Region Coach of the Year: Dwayne Wroe (Hancock County), 4th Region Coach of the Year: Daryl Murphy (Barren County), 5th Region Coach of the Year: Jimmy Schmidt (Elizabethtown), 6th Region Coach of the Year: James Brentlinger (Mercy), 7th Region Coach of the Year: Suzanne Cates (Assumption), 8th Region Coach of the Year: Brent Aldridge (Anderson County), 9th Region Coach of the Year: Milt Horner (Highlands), 10th Region Coach of the Year: Matt Puckett (Montgomery County), 11th Region Coach of the Year: Randy Hall (Madison Central), 12th Region Coach of the Year: Kevin Dalton (Southwestern), 13th Region Coach of the Year: Carly Mink (South Laurel), 14th Region Coach of the Year: Michael Taulbee (Breathitt County), 15th Region Coach of the Year: Joey Estep (Johnson Central), 16th Region Coach of the Year: Scott Ingram (Ashland).
