Crum named 15th Region Player of the Year

LOUISA — Lawrence County catcher/utility player Dani Cum has been named the 15th Region Player of the Year.

Among the top student-athletes in the state, Crum earned the honor from the Kentucky Softball Coaches Association.

Crum led Lawrence County throughout the 2024 high school softball season. As a senior, Crum batted .563 with 57 runs, 63 hits, 54 RBIs, 16 doubles, seven triples and five home runs. Excelling offensively, Crum recorded 30 stolen bases.

The player of the year honorees from each of the state’s 16 regions follow.

Walker (McCracken County), 2nd Region Player of the Year: Taylor Troutman (Henderson County), 3rd Region Player of the Year: Lily Roberts (Hancock County), 4th Region Player of the Year: McLaine Hudson (South Warren), 5th Region Player of the Year: Taytum Spiers (Elizabethtown), 6th Region Player of the Year: Maya Merrill (Mercy), 7th Region Player of the Year: Hallie Roberts (Eastern), 8th Region Player of the Year: Brooke Bennett (North Oldham), 9th Region Player of the Year: Michelle Barth (Highlands), 10th Region Player of the Year: Reaghan Oney (Montgomery County), 11th Region Player of the Year: Abby Hammond (Lexington Catholic), 12th Region Player of the Year: Molly Abney (Garrard County), 13th Region Player of the Year: Kenzie Williams (South Laurel), 14th Region Player of the Year: Catlin Pennington (Breathitt County), 15th Region Player of the Year: Dani Crum (Lawrence County), 16th Region Player of the Year: Skyler Lawrence (Greenup County).
