Bulldogs to open season at East Carter

LOUISA — Lawrence County is scheduled to host East Carter for its opener in the 2022 boys’ high school soccer season on Tuesday, Aug. 9.
The Bulldogs and Raiders are rivals from bordering regions.
Lawrence County notched a pair of shutout wins over familiar foe East Carter during the 2021 boys’ high school soccer season, winning 5-0 and 2-0.
The Bulldogs, following an appearance in the KHSAA Boys’ Soccer State Tournament, concluded the 2021 season 15-3-2.
Among the state’s top boys’ high school soccer teams, Lawrence County captured 58th District and 15th Region championships in 2021.
The Bulldogs thrived throughout the 2021 boys’ high school soccer season, outscoring opponents 110-20.

East Carter claimed the 2021 62nd District boys’ soccer title. After claiming the 62nd District championship, East Carter competed in the 2021 16th Region Boys’ Soccer Tournament.

In addition to East Carter, Lawrence County has regular season games scheduled versus Belfry, Jenkins, Pikeville, Russell, Prestonsburg, Ashland, Johnson Central, Paintsville and Martin County.
The Bulldogs opened preseason practice earlier in the month.
