Bulldogs to face East Carter in Boyd County Roundball Classic

LOUISA — Following schedule revisions due to COVID-19, Lawrence County is slated to face former 16th Region rival East Carter in the Boyd County Roundball Classic at Boyd County High School on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021.

The Boyd County Roundball Classic is one of the area's top boys' high school basketball events.

Lawrence County is the reigning 58th District champion. After capturing the 2019-20 58th District title, Lawrence County finished runner-up to Martin County in the 15th Region Boys' Basketball Tournament.

The Bulldogs compiled a 22-12 record during the 2019-20 boys' high school basketball season.

Head coach Chandler Thompson guided Lawrence County to the 15th Region runner-up finish.

Double figures scorers Cody Maynard (15.7 ppg) and Trenton Adkins (10.9 ppg, 7.2 rpg) are set to return to the court for 2019-20 15th Region title contender runner-up Lawrence County.

Lawrence County defeated East Carter 83-70 in a 2019-20 boys' high school basketball season opener.

East Carter concluded the 2019-20 boys' high school basketball season 11-16.

The Bulldogs are expected to push for the 15th Region's top spot during the 2020-21 boys' high school basketball season.
